Yankees announce lineup against Tampa Bay Rays July 28

NEW YORK – Giancarlo Stanton will begin receiving the ball in the outfield over the next few days – responding directly to Judge Aaron's stay on the injury list.

The judge's right flexor tendon strain placed him on the injury list at least until August 4. When he returns, he will be the designated hitter for a while.

It's not clear how long it took for a while, but that affected Stanton, who was just DH for some time.

Currently, Stanton has been one of the Yankees’ hottest batsmen. Entering Monday, the right-handed batsman hit .327 (49-16) in his last 14 games.

“Anyway, we will have the best chance to win.”

“Everyone has to step up until (the judge) comes back.”
