Vikings QB wins enthusiastic recognition for trying to lock in 53-man roster

After JJ McCarthy, the most important position of the game looks very open. There is even some speculation about introducing another passer from outside the organization.

Maybe it happened eventually, but it is worth noting that rookie quarterback Max Brosmer has fans at JJ McCarthy. UDFA Vikings QB is at best the QB3 for 2025. He will only be seen rise if there are certain injuries. However, even entering the lineup, it is a good achievement for former Golden Gopher.

Vikings QB Max Brosmer and 53-man lineup

Last week, McCarthy chatted about Brosmer and brought strong recognition to the recent addition of the dining table.

“Yes, Max is a man,” McCarthy began. “As long as the super details, the hard work goes away, I can't say enough good things to that guy. He's just a great guy.”

Not long after, McCarthy even gave Brosmer some praise because of his singing ability before the conclusion: “He’s a great guy.”

One wonders how important (if any) the JJ McCarthy's point of view is in the back end of the Vikings QB competition. After all, the focus of the Minnesota roster is to make sophomores comfortable, so perhaps backups that have a strong connection with McCarthy have some value.

More importantly, Max Brosmer proved to be able to do this on the spot. He is currently fighting Sam Howell (favorite QB2) and Brett Rypien (favorite QB3's favorite) to find a spot in the final lineup.

Last season, Brosmer provided services to Golden Gophers. He didn't catch a fire, but he did provide some promising statistics. He completed a 66.5% pass – accuracy is a necessary prerequisite for Kevin O'Connell quarterback – while earning 2,828 yards, 18 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

Max Brosmer's NFL ceiling is likely to be a powerful QB2, but his story begins. At this level, he still has a lot to prove, let alone surpass the possible ceiling.

Early in the offseason, Brosmer was organized in the Twin Cities due to his willingness to talk about some trash. So, the same is true of the discussion about the way he reflects McCarthy.

He signed a three-year UDFA contract to stay in Minnesota, extending his accommodation on 10,000 lakes by jumping from the college team to the NFL team. In three years, Brosmer should command $2.975 million. Crucially, the contract saw $244,000 in guaranteed money, which was a big deal for the undrafted players.

Max Brosmer, 24, weighs 6'2 inches and weighs 217 pounds. Once the preseason arrives, keep an eye on #12's performance.
