Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has a similar view on Phillips' influence.
“Harrison has meant a lot to our team and locker rooms since he arrived in Minnesota three years ago,” O’Connell said. “He brings leadership, professionalism, and consistency that helps set the standard for the culture we want to create. As our 2023 Walter Payton candidate of the year, he and Shae have been making constant comments on the impact of the community. I’m grateful for the relationship Harrison and the relationship we have built, and he really makes us an organization and field.”
Phillips joined the Vikings in 2022 after spending his first four professional seasons in Buffalo.
During his tenure at Minnesota, he never missed an outing, starting all 51 regular season games and two playoff games. In three seasons, he has a total of 207 tackles, 6.5 sacks, seven tackles, seven pass defenses and two turnover recovery rates.
Phillips helped to score the Vikings defense in 2024, ranking second and second in the game, with an average of only 93.4 rushing yards per game. Last season, Minnesota ranked fifth in scoring.
