Top Red Sox prospects gain recognition in power tear

Jhostynxon Garcia continues to wield a hot bat in the minor league.

The Boston Red Sox prospect now hits .305/.375/.587 in Worcester's triple Worcester, at the start of August. Garcia is often called the “password” because of his unique spelling name, he has home runs in the past three games and entered the yard four times last week.

In view of these results, Garcia was named the International League of Week Player on Monday.

Garcia has made 10 of 29 shots with four doubles and 13 RBIs in the last six games. The outfielder has been hit in 16 of his last 18 games.

Password stocks continue to climb in exciting activities. He made it to the top 100 in Major League Baseball Rankings, second in Boston’s farm system, behind shortstop Franklin Arias and Kristian Campbell, Marcelo Mayer and Roman Anthony graduated with prospects.

The story continues with the following ad

Including his 33 games at Double-A, Garcia has hit .288/.368/.518 this season. Of the eight International League batsmen with higher OPS, only the highest prospect Samuel Basallo is young.

In different situations, fans may count down Garcia to arrive in the major leagues. But a crowded outfield blocked his path to getting meaningful game time in Boston.

Right-handed Garcia can imagine that Alex Cora offers another row option for left-handed Jarren Duran, Roman Anthony and Wilyer Abreu, but the rising young slugger may remain in the foreseeable future.
