Birmingham City Minority owner Tom Brady questioned the “work ethics” of his team’s former manager Wayne Rooney and called some teams in the 2023-24 season “lazy and qualified.”
Seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady became the minority owner of Birmingham in August 2023 after Knighthead Capital Management LLC and American financier Tom Wagner took over the club.
“I’m a little worried about our coach. [Rooney’s] Brady said in the main Amazon documentary released on Friday.

“I mean, I don’t know, I don’t have a good intuition about it.”
Rooney was appointed Birmingham manager for two months and was appointed Brady's takeover. He continued for only 83 days as the club was relegated to the league.
“Well, we've changed the coaches, so it's really the players because the coach isn't there to play,” Brady said after his first season with the club in Birmingham.
“They are lazy and qualifying and when you are lazy and qualifying, you don’t have much chance of success.
“We have to change everyone related to failure, so I think there will be a lot of people going away this summer.”

Birmingham is also busy returning to the second floor of British football in the transfer window this summer, with six players so far former Premier League champion Demaray Gray and former Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi, who have won 9 million euros ($10 million) from Stade Rennais for 9 million euros ($10 million).
They will start on August 8 at home in Ipswich Town.
