Sources told ESPN that East Rutherford, New Jersey – The New York Giants will abandon quarterback Tommy Devito and will start at quarterback.
Devito broke into the scene with three straight wins in 2023 with a three-game winning streak and accepted the nickname “Tommy Cutlets”, but it could be a weird guy on the Giants' depth rankings, behind which are starter Russell Wilson, veteran Jameis Winston and 2025 first-round draft pick Jaxson Dart.
The New Jersey was warmly welcomed among Giants fans and competed in 12 professional games with New York, including eight. However, he saw limited reps this summer and in pre-season.

Giants coach Brian Daboll recently said: “Tommy did everything we asked him to do.”
In his final game as the Giants, Devito completed 15 of his first 17 passes while making three touchdown passes against his first three passes against the New England Patriots in the preseason finale on Thursday. He was welcomed by good applause from his hometown fans who praised the performance and time with the team.
“It means a lot,” Devito said after that game. “Like you said, applaud, if I were in the stands, I would cheer for anyone who is a kid from home. It's worthy of appreciation.”
