The League Cup Discipline Committee announced that a member of the Miami club delegation will suspend all technical areas for the rest of the game following Wednesday night's incident against Atlas at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
A source confirmed to ESPN that the person who was suspended was Lionel Messi's bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko.
“After the Miami Inter Miami CF match against the Club Atlas on July 30, members of the Miami Club delegation demonstrated misconduct by entering restricted areas without a formal certificate of activity,” the Disciplinary Committee announced in a press release.

“As per the 2025 League Cup Championship rules, the Disciplinary Committee has suspended the remaining participants of the 2025 League Cup and issued an undisclosed fine to Inter Miami CF.”
After the game, the bodyguards entered the court to break down the discussion between the players of the two teams and to personal contact with Atlas.
Atlas's defender Matheus Doria addressed the situation at a press conference on Friday, stressing that Cheuko has no permission on important aspects between players.
“We already know that our board is working well and will solve this problem. I know that Messi's bodyguards are there to protect Messi from the possibility of fans entering, but I don't know, but between the players, he doesn't have that permission.”
“It’s not that we’re going to say too much or give an opinion on this matter, but the board and the people in charge of the League Cup have seen it and will be responsible for what can’t be done and what can’t be done, because as long as it protects not only Messi, but other players, but also the physical integrity of the players there, and that’s other issues.
Cheuko was previously banned by Miami off the court in Major League Baseball football games, although he remains part of the club's safety details.
