Philadelphia's Bryce Harper accomplished a feat that hasn't been seen in 125 years

Phillies Post Phillies' Bryce Harper achieved a feat that was not seen in 125 years first appeared at the clutch point.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper made his fourteenth home run of the season Wednesday night. The bomb followed up with Kyle Schwarber's two shots, but it wasn't enough to shoot down the Boston Red Sox. However, the Rob Thomson star portrayed his name in the team's history books with his 14 extra hits in the past 10 games.

According to Sarah Langs of Major League Baseball, Harper's 14 extra hits are the most Phillies players in ten games in the last 125 years. This feat is impressive for a team as successful as Philadelphia. Thomson's offense saw Harper and his co-star in the team's struggles.

Harper's strength increase is a welcome addition to the Phillies roster. But Thomson hopes it translates into victory. An additional loss to the Red Sox Wednesday dropped Philadelphia to 5-5 in the last ten games. The New York Mets used four straight wins to regain the lead in the National League East. Both teams walked back and forth for several months.

Amid the Philadelphians' trade rumors, the pressure has risen around relief pitchers such as Emmanuel Clase. Harper, Schwarber and the rest of the team developed undesirable bad habits. Although Philadelphia has its own moments throughout the season, it's too common like a man against Boston.

Harper, 32, leads a senior squad. Even if he missed the All-Star game this season, the first baseman proved that he is still an elite talent. Schwarber scored an MVP performance in the All-Star Game. Fortunately, he brought his strength to the second half of the season.

The game between the Phillies and the Mets is one of the closest games in the league. If Harper continues to play like he does, Thomson's team is in good shape. No matter how they end, Philadelphia will be judged by its playoff performance.
