Packers QB Jordan loves to take the program on his left thumb and is expected to miss Week 1

The good news is that the injury affected his non-attacking hand. While this may affect his ability to handle center spikes when he returns, love seems to avoid the annoyance that may persist throughout the season.

Gutekunst didn't pay much attention to Love's point of view, saying the Packers union “has brought him back for a lot of time, and I don't expect that to affect him for the long term at all.” Coach Matt Lafleur responded to Gutekunst's sentiment and told reporters he expected “recovery relatively quickly.”

“His camp has been good so far. Obviously, I think when he comes back we will evaluate where he is,” Gutekunst said. “This is one of the things I think he will come back to practice next week. We can see how much he can do, we will see his day-to-day.

“You never want these guys out because you want to be a team. They all need to work. What's more, he's going to be ready for week 1, which is the most important thing.”

Meanwhile, backup Malik Willis will lead the quarterback team, which includes former Penn State’s distinguished Sean Clifford and Canadian university product Taylor Elgersma.
