The company said the newly announced sponsorship deepened its links in Buckeyes and showed its commitment to the Ohio and Columbus communities.
Columbus, Ohio – Defense contractor Anduril Industries has been appointed as the official sponsor of Ohio State University track and field athletics, the company announced Thursday.
Earlier this year, state leaders and Jobsohio announced that California-based Anduril will establish advanced facilities in Pikaway County. Anduril Industries will build a 5 million square foot factory called Arsenal-1, hoping to bring more than 4,000 new production and service efforts to Ohio by 2035.
The company said the newly announced sponsorship deepened its links in Buckeyes and showed its commitment to the Ohio and Columbus communities.
“Anduril has been here for a long time,” said Zachary Mears, senior vice president of strategy at Anduril. “Just as Ohio State University, my alma mater, has shaped Ohio status for more than a century, we intend to make Anduril a permanent part of the community, creating jobs, mentoring young talent and providing technology to ensure national security.”
Anduril's investment in Ohio State's track and field athletics is far beyond sponsorship, said Ross Bjork, the school's senior vice president and track director for Wolfe Foundation-Eugene Smith.
“Our mission is to support student-athletes and have a positive impact on the wider community,” Bjork said. “We are very grateful to the Anduril leadership team for seeing the value of Ohio Track and Field and their support.”
The company's super-large production facility, Arsenal-1, is one of the largest advanced manufacturing facilities in the United States. It will open the door just a few miles from campus.
Arsenal 1 will produce military drones and autonomous vehicles. It is scheduled to open in July 2026.
The 5 million square foot facility will be located on a 500-acre site near Rickenbacker International Airport in Pickaway County, about 16 miles southeast of Columbus.
Anduril's presence will now be seen at Ohio Stadium and Schottenstein Center.
