New York Yankees make chaotic decisions with New Paulman

  • by admin

Everyone remembers the lyrics of Mrs. Robinson. “Where are you going, Amed Rosario? A fan base turns to you toward lonely eyes.” Even with Simon and Garfunkel making such a declaration, it would want to know what the New York Yankees, especially Aaron Boone, are doing whenever left-handers are on the mound, and they need a pinch batsman.

The mystery of Rosario's disappearance became even more chaotic last night when the old friend and former close-up worker one day became even more chaotic, and Aroldis Chapman entered the game. Rosario faces two left-handed men, Ben Rice and Trent Grisham sitting on the bench. Even more confusing, Boone wasted Giancarlo Stanton and then faced former Yankee farmer Garrett Whitlock.

In the first game loss against Boston, Boone's team saw a series of left-handed men. Steven Matz, Justin Wilson and Chapman came in and Rosario still rode the bench. Next to him, another trade deadline acquisition of Jose Caballero enjoys the game like a stand.

After the second game, Boone explained his reasoning for letting Grisham face Chapman. He said it was not a “strike situation” and he thought Grisham would become a base.

Still, Chapman isn't the only left-handed relief guy that Alex Cora ran out there this weekend. The players obtained by the organization through the transaction are effectively relegated to audience characters in tight-knit games.

Rosario was acquired during the trade deadline between outfielders Browm Martinez and Clayton Beeter, the 20th-place Yankee prospect for the Joey Gallo trade.

Interestingly, Boone is actually happy to hear about Rosario. On the deadline, he said a lot.

“He made the balance of our bench and roster more feasible,” Boone said. “Hopefully we can affect our situation in some cases. He can help us a lot. I briefly talked to him last night. He was so happy to be here and felt he could help us.”

Rosario will enter the third game of the series against Boston's third base. He will replace the struggling Ryan McMahon. Rosario's last match with the Yankees was the second game in the Rays series. That is activated from IL. He hit third base but did nothing on the plate. The night before, he was a pinch batsman and opened the car in doubles.

Rosario has made four hits in eight set appearances since coming to the Yankees. Two are doubles.
