Las Vegas (KSNV) – State officials warn people about the new scam involved in NV Energy.
Nevada Department of Emergency Management shares that people are imitating workers from door to door for utility companies.
Residents are reminded that employees may visit homes or businesses for unplanned services such as emergencies, placement of door hangers for upcoming work, special instrumentation tests and on-site inspections.
NV Energy employees and contractors identify with them. If you are not sure, you can ask them for an ID.
The utility will not require immediate payment or threaten disconnection by phone, text or email. It also does not work with external companies for HVAC work or solar installations.
