WASHINGTON – Less than a year later, Osaka and coach Patrick Mouratoglou announced four-time Grand Slam titles on social media.

“Merci Patrick,” Osaka began her post, a photo she played practice while standing nearby. “It's a great experience to learn from you. Nothing is beyond the best. You're one of the coolest people I've ever met and I'm sure I'll meet you.”

Osaka's second game on DC Open and her second game before she started playing in Toronto took place three days. The U.S. Open (U.S. Open) started in New York on August 24, the last major championship of the year, with Osaka winning two championships.

Osaka hired longtime coach Mouratoglou of Serena Williams, when she fired Wim Fissette shortly after she quit last year's second round of the U.S. Open.

Top 1 Osaka is currently ranked 51st, with a record of 21-11 this season.

She has never competed in the third round of the Grand Slam Championship since winning the 2021 Australian Open.
