Mick Abel

On Sunday, Abel will be following the Taj Bradley on Sunday, another major deadline award received from the Rays. Bradley was at the Twins Clubhouse before Saturday's game and will be in the series finale.

“We are adding talented weapons is a good thing,” said manager Rocco Baldelli. “It provides a lot of work for us.”

These two moves bring the twins a hurdle, in which they often list “TBAs” in the possible launcher, and in the next stage they may have more pitchers than the spots they deployed. It's not always pretty — a few of the appetizers are young, developed pitchers, obviously including Abel — but hopefully it's the basis for days to come.

As for Abel's debut, there is something that obviously likes. He averaged 96.3 miles per hour and reached 97.6 on his four-hole fastball. He flashed four different speed courts and threw two-thirds of the strikes in 63 courts.

He also gave up seven hits, including one, and sent out an expensive walking pair to build the Grand Slam. After three innings, he finished the game, largely due to his level of effort in six innings. Abel threw 39 goals on the frame.

“The overall thing is to get 0-1 [in the count] He said, “Don't fall behind 1-0 and let the bat escape.” I know that's what I know and can recognize it at this moment. It's frustrating that it can't be executed as I should have. I have to bring this mentality into the bullpen. ”

Abel's stuff is obvious, despite some execution errors. He lagged behind in an inappropriate era and gave up on some hits from the pitcher.

In the second, Abel's damage from escape was minimal. But he walked back to back, and then in the 36th game he left a 1-0 sinker up and down to Colson Montgomery, whose grand slam provided Chicago with all the runs he needed.

“Some things are out of my control – that’s how baseball is,” Abel said. “I control the execution, and in my case, I didn’t do well tonight. I didn’t do well enough.”

As the new-looking twins rotate in shape in the coming days, he will get more opportunities. Sunday is Bradley. He has been working on perfecting the splitter in Triple-A, but now he will join the MLB rotation.

“I just want to [it was about] “In a new organization, a new philosophy and a new adjustment, my feet are wet-enabled. “The sales aspect of things and how they view scout reports and what they value starting pitchers in the organization. It's great to do this in less stressful environments. ”

There are more to come after that. Simeon Woods Richardson may return on Toronto's injury list next week, giving the twins six starters. Pablo López recovered the muscle strain on Woods Richardson's shoulder, probably less than two weeks behind Woods Richardson.

When the twins want to fit seven starters into five spots, these decisions and equations are about to change, and most likely only five starters will follow. Some pitchers with starting abilities may take on the “backpack” role and need to make tough lineup decisions. These changes will be significant and they begin on Saturday.
