Hollywood hangs on Madonna, but the biopic remains a frozen secret. Anyway, the life of the legendary singer will eventually end up making it a screen – although it first arrives at a small screen or a large screen has not been determined yet. This week, “Weapons” star Julia Garner was announced to star in Madonna’s film in 2022, and confirmed on the podcast “Smartless” that the “Like Virgin” project is still huge despite reports to the contrary.
“This should still happen,” she said. Garner will star with Julia Fox, who will play Madonna BFF and frequent music video co-star Debi Mazar. Fox spoke with Indiewire in 2024, and it also seemed ambiguous about the shelving of the film-produced Universal.
“I knew it was either a tour or a movie, and then she went on a tour,” Fox said. “So, I don't know when the movie will resume again, or when it will start working again. But I didn't hear anything. I actually didn't know anything… I mean, I still like it, but I really don't know. They were 19 years old and when they met 19. I feel like I first met.
On Smartless, Garner says she's keen on taking over Madonna [she] Can be done. “This movie is-or – Directed by “Vogue” idol, auditioned by Garner. “I'm not a trained dancer, I have to learn how to dance and then dance in front of her and convince her that I can dance, basically singing…sing with her!” Garner related.
Madonna shared on Instagram a year ago that she is still making scripts. She wrote: “I need Bandz’s A-Lot to do this……….. Okay.
However, this movie isn't Madonna's only story. In May, the deadline revealed that a Netflix series was planned, and Garner does have a long history, related to streamers, and is still “Ozark,” “Ozark,” “Invent Anna” and the upcoming limited series about cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Madonna's TV show will be produced by “One League of Your Own” stars along with “Stranger Things” EP Shawn Levy.
Whether it’s a series or a movie, Madonna’s story will be the creature of the latest trendy generation of artists who have become a reliable award-friendly genre. Just last season, Timothée Chalamet won an Oscar nod as Bob Dylan in “Total Unknown” and Kingsley Ben-Adir was also well informed for his portrayal of Bob Marley. Austin Butler has been nominated for his role in Elvis Presley in recent years, while Rami Malek has won an Academy Award for his role as Freddie Mercury in Bohemia Rhapsody. This doesn't even begin to involve trendy artist documentation, such as “Linda Longstadt: The Voice of My Voice” which won the Grammy or “The Beatles: Back” directed by Peter Jackson.
As for Madonna, no matter what happened, it was still uncertain. After all, life is a mystery, as she tells us in “Prayer.” However, whenever the movie is shown, Garner promises it is worth it. “Everything is great…it takes a long time,” she said.
