Cena Reviews Possible Retirement Matches with Rocks
Fans have called several names the idea of who should be the ultimate rival of John Cena later this year, but especially caught Cena's attention in a recent appearance.
At Denver's fan fair, H/T Felix Upton, Cena was asked about possible last game against the Rocks:
Cena made it clear that while he didn't choose an opponent, he thought it would be “cool” to play a game against the Rock.
At 28 Wrestlemania in 2012, Cena and The Rock faced each other for the first time in the year. The rocks were victorious, which led to Senna's various redemption journeys.
At the time, the game was called “Once a Lifetime”, but Cena won the 2013 Royal Rumble Competition for the Wrestlemania 29 season when Rock beat CM Punk to compete in the WWE Championship.
Cena made up for his win over Rock in Wrestlemania 29 in a loss in Wrestlemania 28, which was essentially a passing moment.
Cena has had little interaction with Rock for many years since then, but earlier this year, Cena changed the rock's heels by attacking Cody Rhodes' request.
After that, the rocks are removed from the storyline, but Cena will defend the WWE championship at Summerslam on August 3, and it is not possible that the boss can get involved again.
If this situation is intentionally or accidentally causing Cena to happen in the rock form, it could open the door to the last contact between the two biggest stars in WWE history.
Of course, Rock had to commit to a game to achieve this, which is far from certainty given his busy schedule.
Even if Cena vs. Rock's last time isn't on the card, Cena's last game in December will be a huge deal, and, anyway, is perhaps one of the biggest events in WWE history.
WWE is reportedly from Reigns vs. Breakker singles match
Despite some teasing over the past two weeks, WWE may not have singles matches between Summerslam’s Roman Reigns and Bron Breakker.
According to Dave Meltzer Wrestling Observer Broadcast (H/T Steve Carrier of Circus News, WWE's original plan calls on Reigns vs. Breakker and Jey Uso vs. Bronson Reed in a solo match at Summerslam, but that may be turning into Reigns and Uso vs. Breakker and Breakker and Reed, while Reed is on the tag team.
On the RAW after Wrestlemania 41, Reigns tried to retaliate against Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, but Breakker arrived at the scene and led Reigns in the barricades, indicating his new alliance with Rollins and Heyman.
Reigns lost in the following months, but he surfaced on Raw last week after defeating Breakker in a glove match at CM Punk, winning the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther on Summerslam.
After the game, Breakker and Reed attacked Punk, prompting Jey to try to save, but when Punk and Jey were overwhelmed, Reigns both unexpectedly and rewarded Breakker and Reed.
On Raw this week, Reigns addressed Heyman during a promotion, who had several interactions with Breakker, who was picking up the tribe leader.
The part was also caught in a brawl, and Jay even helped the odds, resulting in another hug between real-life cousins.
Reigns vs. Breakker feels like it's inevitable at some point, but WWE may play slowly by playing tag team games on Summerslam.
If that's the case, maybe the long-term plan calls for Reigns vs. Breakker in singles matches at WrestleMania 42.
Reported TNA Slammiversary's original style plan
AJ Styles returned to TNA during Sunday's pay-per-money Slammiversary, a stunning man's first live show since leaving in 2014.
After Slater beat Moose to win the X-Division title, Styles essentially gave Leon Slater approval, but reportedly a different style plan was initially developed.
According to Jon Alba Sports IllustratedInitially, Styles was supposed to be part of a paragraph with Frankie Kazarian, but with a late change.
Sources told Alba they believe the plan has changed because WWE doesn't want to hint or promise a style of future matches in TNA.
TNA President Carlos Silva later confirmed to Alba that Slammiversary's Styles creative plan “changed several times” despite not providing other details.
The segment involving style and Kazarian will make a lot of sense as they have worked together multiple times in TNA over the years to become competitors and companions.
Styles is also widely regarded as the top star and best performer in TNA history, with five world champions, six tag team champions and six X division champions during his legendary tenure.
He also continued to be great in WWE, becoming a WWE twice, three-time U.S. champion, one intercontinental champion and one-time TAG team champion.
At Summerslam, Styles will add more gold to his resume as he challenged the Intercontinental Championship to Dominik Mysterio.
