Jamie Lee Curtis plans Hollywood to quit, and then industry pushes her out

Jamie Lee Curtis plans to leave Hollywood on his own terms.

In a recent interview with Guardian, Jamie Lee, 67, discussed her feelings about Hollywood aging and her plans for her career.

“I witnessed my parents losing the things that made them famous, their lives and their livelihoods, when the industry turned them down at a certain age,” she explained. “I watched them achieve incredible success and slowly erode it to where it disappeared. It was very painful.”

After watching her parents struggle in the industry as they grow older, she took a positive attitude and told the media: “I have retired for 30 years.” She explained that she was “prepared to leave” the industry to avoid “must be as painful as my family.”

“I want to leave the party before I no longer invite,” she added.

Jamie Lee made his debut in 1978 in Alloween's Laurie. After escaping Michael Myers, the actress went on to star in successful films including “The Place of Trading” and “A Fish Called Wanda” before eventually winning an Oscar in 2023 for her role as Deirdre Beaubeirdre in “Everywhere.”

The Academy Award-winning actress is the daughter of Hollywood idols, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.

Throughout Hollywood's career, Tony has appeared in more than 150 films, including 1957's Sweet of Sucke and 1959's comedy “Like Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon”. Leigh began her film career in 1947 and starred in classic works including The Evil Soul and The Manchurian Candidate.

Both Leigh and Tony were nominated for Academy Awards: Tony’s role in Rebels, and Leigh’s role as Marion Crane in “Psycho,” which is her most famous role.

The couple got married in 1951 and welcomed their two daughters. Jamie Lee and Kelly. They later divorced in 1962, Tony continued to marry five times, and Ley continued to marry stockbroker Robert Brandt until his death in 2004.

Leigh died in October 2004 due to complications related to vasculitis, and Tony died in September 2010 due to cardiac arrest. They passed by 77 and 85 respectively.

Jamie Lee criticized Nepo Babies’ stern criticism in a December 2022 Instagram post, calling herself “OG Nepo Baby.”
