Daniel Caesar seems to be cooking. After recently contributing to Blood Orange’s “Fields” comeback track, Caesar appears to be planning his own huge return. Apart from the two-piece packaging with Rex Orange County, which was abandoned on the past day, Caesar has been quiet since his recent album Never enough In April 2023. But this is going to change…
Caesar's new project is probably titled Spergy's Son The name is used in the URL of Caesar's recent social media trailer and album official website, which currently contains embedded videos of the trailer below, as well as a pre-save link to the project.
In the trailer, he also tagged Bon Iver, Clairo, Dev Hynes, Sampha, Rex Orange County and 646yf4t.
He first shared a “trailer” on his Instagram feed (clearing everything else on his grid), which also shrouded in a lengthy message.
“I want to write a letter announcing this album, but I hope it is profound and smart. I have a secret desire to think secretly and express ideas that I have never thought of before. But, a pity.”
When I was a kid, whenever my dad was disappointed with me or felt as if I needed motivation (or he wanted me to understand him, and I didn’t yet), he would tell me his well-planned but true story. He would tell me about the glorious era of tourism in Jamaica this is a TV station.
It ends: “Everything is vanity. Family is everything. Honest and straightforward in transactions. Never forget that God is the only eternal measure of morality. I am nothing, but in my flesh, I am the son of spergy, and in my spirit, I am God's.”
Stay tuned with more information on the new album.
