A New York City-based content creator died on July 31 at the age of 20.
Chase Filandro is an amateur actor and regularly posts photos of his trips throughout the United States to his Instagram account, which has more than 30,000 followers.
“Chase is an avid traveler, moved by the beauty of the national park,” his sister Franki Ford wrote in an Instagram tribute. “He always welcomes strangers with a smile and makes friends along all the trails he walks.”
Filandro is listed as the singer of Indie Band, Aff Aff Water, a five-player rock band that performs around Long Island. Last summer, he performed in a recent performance with the band.
In a post by Take 2 Actor's Studio, a performing arts school in Huntington, NY, where Filandro is associated with the school, the late actor is remembered for his “energetic spirit” and “the joy he brings into every room.”

The tribute continues: “His existence is a gift, and his absence leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.”

In honor of her brother's legacy, Ford started a Gofundme to raise funds for one of Fieldro's favorite national parks or a memorial that hits $24,000 in just two days.

“My brother, Chase Filandro, is a glorious light, filled with incredible enthusiasm throughout his life,” Ford wrote in the Gofundme Post. “He is loved by many people and opens his heart to everyone he meets.”
