The comedy options for the rest of the 2025 TV schedule may have packed it in the package, because nothing can go beyond undressed and destructive madness. Philadelphia is always sunnyLatest season. For this, Season 17 has indeed received excellent feedback from viewers and critics, and the lively prank at the heart of “Frank’s fall into a coma” immediately became a classic in history. So it makes sense that co-star Danny Devito will have his own prank anecdotes.
Only in the actor's story is it not him (or Frank) who is responsible for starting the unexpected wizard, but his actor. Rob McElhenney (his name has since changed to Rob Mac), Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day and Kaitlin Olson were able to make one of the greatest (albeit stupidest) April Fool's Day jokes ever, thanks in large part to Devito for not knowing what day it was.
When asked about anyone, Devito proposed the real life of the BTS gang when talking to the Collider Always sunny A situation where the route is too far. He began his story:
Well, there was a show that wasn't a start and they laughed at me many years ago. It's April 1st. I have no idea. I don't know it was April 1. I don't know what date it was. We'll start an episode that day. It was morning and I received a script to my house. The news is that we are going to exchange this show, and this is the first show we are going to do, so I should read it right before I come in. So I immediately sat down and read.
So far it seems normal enough. New plot expectations? Check. The script is delivered to the house. Check. An unexpected early note about an episode that was swapped and replaced by another? Check.
But, as the actor reads in the script, he reaches a narrative cliff, leading to…physical performances, if not necessarily a complete comedy. Devito continues:
This is a great show. Very well written. And there is always a sunny story in Philadelphia, but Frank was eliminated for picking up a prostitute and he was thrown into jail. This is a page of more than 30 pages, and only I was shot to death. So like, I know, I…I mean, I…look, that's in the shower. This is a white supremacist. That was a policeman. Do you know what I mean?
I personally think it is worth writing over 30 pages of new and unavailable materials in this case. Oh well, any context.
At this point, even Frank wouldn't have contacted someone, so Frank wouldn't have been in his daily business, so Devito stopped to promote for some background, which is a joke place. As he said:
So I was a little nervous. I called them before I was done. I didn't call the lawyer first. I called them and they were all on the other side of the phone – everyone, Caitlyn, Rob, Charlie and Glen- all laughed at their ass. Because of the last line, just before I was going to nail it with seven policemen at Billy Club, the guy leaned on the floor, he leaned into my ear, and he said, “April Fool, Mom.”
Devito wasn't eliminated by his TV cohort and then shared an interesting anecdote to get them back to the pre-speak. He talked about a hotel manager who brought four cribs to a smaller room, a convincing day, with Howerton, Mac and Olson all booked to live in a single room, with Howerton and Day's wife also taking the trip.
Everyone's emotions started to surge when Danny Devito looked from the neighborhood with pleasure, but he came out before the others began to desperately call the network boss. Imagine being subjected to a prank attitude that you have to call President FX for help.
Philadelphia is always sunnyThe co-stars will double down on their efforts to make the audience laugh, and Kaitlin Olson often puts his body on the line for enjoyment. It sounds like Devito will eventually convince Frank's butt to be placed on the line if the story asks. The level of dedication should have a dedicated Emmy Award.
Philadelphia is always sunny It aired Wednesday night on FXX at 10:00 pm ET, and the next day's new episodes were streamed with a Hulu subscription.
