commander: Commander and Terry McLaurin encountered a bump on the road, and the Professional Bowl's receiver asked for a deal from Washington while seeking a contract. When the team acquired Deebo Samuel, the team added deeper depth at the location. As McLaurin's contract negotiations stalled in Washington, commanders could count on Noah Brown, Michael Gallup, KJ Osborn, Luke McCaffrey and fourth-round draft pick Jaylin Lane. Head coach Dan Quinn and Co. will have the opportunity to see who can step in if needed. Gallup has experience in the group and is familiar with Quinn from time together in Dallas. Osborn is also a veteran, filling well when asked for it over the past season.
patriot: New England hopes quarterback Drake Maye can raise his production to another level in the second year. To help Maye, the new regime needs to get better efforts from the ground game. In 2024, Rhamondre Stevenson worked hard to protect the ball with seven defeats (three losses). This week, head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters Stevenson, along with other returning players, that has “fresh, clean slate”, but everyone has to be better in 2025. Henderson is an active player at Ohio State, bringing a lot of conspiracy to Foxborough. Although Henderson was ranked third on the unofficial team depth list, a strong preseason could lead Gibson (if not Stevenson) before Week 1.
