Heat in northern Georgia: Possible triple-digit temperatures

On Monday, there were heat warnings in parts of the region. The chances of storms increase mid-week, which will cool us down for a few days.

According to Alex Forbes, a hot weekend will make the stage hotter the coming week.

By Sunday, temperatures will rise to the mid-90s. By Monday, the heat is expected to intensify and enter record territory. As a result, there are several heat warnings and consultations.

We know:

The peak of heat waves is expected to flirt 100 degrees between Metro Atlanta and parts of Northern Georgia on Monday and Tuesday. Warm, stuffy nights hardly eased, at the remaining overnight lows of the 70s.

On Sunday, the National Weather Service issued its first extreme heat warning of the year in our region. Putnam County could hit 111 degrees Monday. The warning extends to the south, entering Milledgeville and Dublin.

The afternoon may be a better afternoon storm chance that comes in the afternoon, but at least on Thursday, the heat will remain the main factor.

What are they talking about:

“When we enter your Thursday afternoon, we will see the high temperature dropping again by 90 again,” said David Chandley, chief meteorologist at Fox 5. “Now, we are focusing on important things on the road…heat waves in big times, with highs approaching 100 in Atlanta.”

Local view:

Atlanta: By Monday, the high will rise to 99. The chances of rain remain low, until Friday, with only 30% chance of afternoon storms.

Rome: Temperatures will rise to 98 on Monday, with sporadic storms likely to occur every afternoon.

Lagranges: The climax will be between Monday and the mid-90s. The highest chance of rainfall is Thursday, with 60% chance of storms.

Ittton: The temperature is expected to reach 102 by Monday, with a heat index value exceeding 100 as early as Thursday.

Athens: By the weekend, the high will rise from 90 to 100 nearly 100 times, with isolated storms every day.

Gainesville: The heat is expected to increase steadily, reaching a peak around 99 on Monday. The afternoon storm may provide a brief relief.

Blytheville: The temperature will be slightly cooler than the rest of the region, but it will still be through Monday, with the chance of storms every day.

What's next:

Officials urge residents to prepare for prolonged calories by keeping moisture, limiting outdoor hours during peak hours, and checking for older people or vulnerable neighbors.

Many communities will offer cooling centers.
