Spoiler Alert: This piece contains spoilers from spoilers episode 5 Gilded Age Season 3.
Just as Gladys Russell (Taissa Farmiga) began to settle in her new home after arranging a marriage to the Duke of Buckingham, her brother, Harry Richardson, began taking the steps to leave the nest in episode 5 of HBO Gilded Age.
Larry is passionate about spending the rest of her life with Ms. Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson), who tells his father, Morgan Spector, that his plan supports the proposal, although the entire discussion between the father and son does not include Larry's mother, Carrie Coon (Carrie Coon), because she participated in social events.
“I think at that time, George just jumped into pain and anger, so he was ready to stick out a needle wherever he could.” Spector's role reversal after George felt he had no control over his daughter's marriage fate. “It's not very fair. I think it's a little like Elsaz. He kind of abandoned this little revenge plot, but I do think he's also determined not to repeat the same mistakes and try to fight for his son's autonomy and freedom.”
Bertha was not excited about the news after Marian accepted Larry's proposal.
“I'm not sure how the writer deals with Betha's relationship with Marianne because I think she does respect Marianne. I think she admires her,” Kuhn told Deadline. “I think she sees herself more in Marian than she sees in Gladys. So I’ve always wondered if she would embrace Marian as a potential partner for Larry when pushing to push, but she’s not ready to fight for that kind of struggle. I mean, she means, she really expects marriage in society because it’s a command to her.”

Although Bertha asked Marian to be a replacement bridesmaid at Gladys' wedding, this was mainly the last minute because one of the other women fell ill. Larry did push her love to be included because her dress was the same as the woman before.
Only time (three episodes left) will tell whether Bertha accepts Larry's decision.
