Fox News once again ranked the highest in July’s ratings, but all major news networks are seeing viewers drop in audiences with 2024.
It's not surprising, as last year's month was a bombshell of news, with the Republican National Convention and Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the presidential election as Trump's assassination attempt.
During prime time in July 2025, Fox News had an average of 2.41 million viewers, down 30%, while MSNBC was 865,000, down 27%, and CNN fell 497,000, down 42%, down 42%. Of the 25-54 demos, Fox News averaged 257,000, down 48%, while CNN contributed 92,000, down 55%, and MSNBC accounted for 81,000, down 40%.
Fox News noted that it peaked in the prime-time average of broadcast networks that month.
In total, Fox News averaged 1.53 million, down 19%, while MSNBC's fairness rate was 530,000, down 26%, and CNN averaged 370,000, down 29%. Of the 25-54 demos, Fox News dropped an average of 184,000, down 31%, while CNN's contribution was 62,000, down 44%, and MSNBC was 52,000, down 37%.
