Duke Dennis, Twitch and YouTube star, arrested while playing hide-and-seek at a Texas mall

  • by admin

Twitch and YouTube star Duke Dennis were arrested Saturday at a shopping mall in San Antonio for a hide-and-seek match, police said.

The content creator (the real name is Denzel Dennis) is part of the AMP collectively known online, which also includes streaming superstar Kai Cenat.

San Antonio police said Dennis, 31, played hide-and-seek with others when she closed her store in Rivercenter on Saturday night.

Police said police responded to the mall’s “evacuation of people who were playing hide-and-seek” as “disturbing throughout the area.” Police said security officers advised people, including Dennis, to leave the mall, but they refused.

“One official directed the suspect to leave, and the suspect refused to leave the location verbally and physically,” police said. “One official directed the suspect to put his hands on his back and was arrested for a criminal invasion of private property.”

Police said Dennis fled, but security officers and police were able to arrest him. According to online records, he was charged with criminal trespassing and evading arrest.

Another person allegedly tried to intervene in Dennis' arrest by pushing an officer. The person was also arrested and charged with three counts of assault on an officer, one of which interferes with the duties of a civil servant and one count of boycotting the arrest, according to online records.

Videos circulating on social media show a man who appears to have been arrested at the Rivercenter store. Kai Cenat can also be seen in the video, and the arrest seems to be recorded from the floor above.

Dennis did not publicly comment on his arrest. He shared a story on Instagram on Sunday, suggesting his social media break.

“Formerly on vacation, there is a need for advice on where to go… See you later,” Dennis wrote.

AMP stands for “any way possible” and is a YouTube collective composed of Dennis, Cenat, Agent 00, Fanum, Imdavisss and Chrisnxtdoor. The group is known for documenting their own writings as they engage in a range of challenges, sometimes working with other social media figures, including Beast, Mr. Druski, Druski and Keith Lee.

The group spent 12 hours a day of “amplifier summer” during their daily activities in July. The trailer is made by musician T-Pain.

It is not clear whether the Rivercenter store’s hide-and-seek game is part of the AMP video.
