Northridge, CA – CSUN Women's Football failed on Sunday night at Matador Soccer Field at California Baptist Church's 1-0 decision. CBU's 15th minute goal will be held in the game. Sophomore Jordyn Canister had three of nine shots on the night's Matadors, while senior Riley Liebsack scored five saves.
How it happens
CBU will pop the first shot of the game through Liebsack, thus saving Ava Westlung's feet. From there, the Bullfighters imposed a gunsmith's defense, resulting in a Cassidy Empire Charming shot and a shot from Keilani Claiborne. CSUN retained ownership for most of the game, but CBU will strike for the first time in the 15th minute of action. As the ball played in the midfield, Ava Lopez kept it in one game before sending a long ball on the field. The show forced Liebsack to get out of the line, causing Kaylee Hauck to break in from his backpack and then hit the ball to the empty net to lead 1-0.
Csun will be searching for an equalizer throughout the night, but the Lancers survived every scoring opportunity. Later in the first half, Csun won a corner and will get a shot from Paige Califf, but the shooting percentage is out of place. Canister also watched goalkeeper Rebecca Winton's shot in the 42nd minute.
After the intermission, Ariana Lopez-Angel recorded the Bullfighter's first shot in the second stage, shooting from a long distance, and the jar was also missing on the top of the box. Lopez-Angel placed the frame on the frame in the 71st minute as Winton made another ammo for the CBU. The last 15 minutes were a few offensive attacks on each side, Yasmin Azar targeted CSUN in the 79th minute, while Liebask made a pair of timely savings in the final stages of the game, including the diving block, which included her rights, negating the shot from Katrina Marsh. However, the CBU will control the clock in the last few minutes of the action, using the last third of the Bullfight for CSUN to ensure victory.
