As videos of the shooting spread, Janardhan Reddy issued a statement calling it an “unfortunate incident” and said he asked police to book the case and arrest those responsible. The minister further said: “This government will never tolerate such discipline and master behavior. Anyone involved will have to face the legal consequences of beating a weight-bearing police officer.”
