Cardinal LHP Matthew Liberatore (6-8, 4.04 ERA) | He allowed two runs in 4 innings last weekend and lost to St. Louis' Padres in 4 innings. Liberatore has not made the sixth inning yet in any of his games this month (6.57 ERA).

Padres RHP Nick Pivetta (10-3, 2.81 ERA) | He lost his start in St. Louis last week, allowing three hits and two walks in six innings. Pivetta still has 0.96 ERA in the last six games. He scored 6-0 in the 2.07 ERA in the 11 season and scored 75 times in 13 walks in 65 innings.

Saturday

Cardinal RHP Michael McGreevy (2-2, 4.91 ERA) | The 25-year-old rookie allowed seven hits and two walks in his final game in four innings, a loss for Padres of St. Louis. McGreevy has a 19-5 strikeout walking ratio in 33 innings this year.

Padres RHPRandy Vásquez (3-4, 3.65 ERA) | He faced the Cardinal in his final game, and in one game Padres won one game and one in four innings. Vásquez had 2.79 ERA in four games in July, but he failed to finish five innings in the last three games.
