Camilla Luddington is learning to live with a new health condition, but admits she has reassured that she now knows what it is and how to manage it.

An episode on Wednesday, August 6 Call it Podcast, the 41-year-old actress co-hosted with her Gray anatomy According to Mayo Clinic, Costar, Jessica Capshaw, Luddington revealed that she has been diagnosed with Hashimoto, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland.

“As long as you keep listening to us, you know I'm joking about getting lazy. Slow. Slow. Slow. Slow, tired, wanting to lie in bed and love a nap. I never thought there was such a medical reason.”

“It's a thing of temperament,” Capshaw, 48, recalled.

Luddington said her routine blood work lasted too long to help her find the diagnosis.

“I have all these plans, I think, you know? I'm going to be organized in a row, whatever you say, I'll do my blood work and make sure everything is fine. So what I'm going to say is two and a half months ago, and it's still very recent, and it's still very recent. And there's blood, and my doctor is back.

Shocked to hear from her medical provider.

“I remember hearing 'autoimmune disease' and thinking, 'F —?' words,” Ludington said. However, she pointed out that her doctor told her that Hashimoto's hypothyroidism was “very common”.

Capshaw was curious to know how her friend included the news, but Luddington admitted that there was always a feeling in her mind that something happened to her health.

“Do you know? I know what's going on,” Ludington told her host. “Because even though I got a blood draw, the doctor said to me, ‘Is there any special thing you worry about?’ I said, “Look, I’m really tired. “transparent

Ludenton’s initial idea was that she was going through perimenopause, a stage in women’s life before menopause, involving levels of hormone fluctuations.

“I'm really scared when they say autoimmune diseases,” Ludington said.

After that, it became easier for her to digest the news.

She continued: “And then, honestly, I feel relieved. I feel like I already know what I've been doing and I have healthy anxiety. So there's a part of me portraits, am I gas? No, no.”

Ludington said her next move was to call Capshaw. She then got together with her husband, Matthew Alan, and talked with the doctor about how to move forward.

Capshaw said when Luddington first told her Luddington, “I'm lucky you have the resources to check it out and find it. At the same time, you're kind of like, oh, oh, something isn't right for me.”

She added that she did not feel Luddington being diagnosed as “feared or completely overwhelmed”.

Ludington said she knew the disease was common and joked about “painful company.”

Then, she explained, “Hashimoto is when your body’s immune system accidentally attacks your thyroid, the glands on your neck help control your energy, and AKA makes you a little lazy. K?k? So over time, the damage caused by the thyroid, it causes the thyroid to cause, which slows down the thyroid and stops producing enough hormones.”

Luddington continued: “It will make you feel tired and cold, which is really fun because Matt will make fun of me because I have 40 blankets at night. It will make you mist and frustrated.”

Other symptoms include dry skin, thin hair and weight gain, the actress said. “Basically, you feel pretty about Hashimoto,” Ludington quipped.
