The Oklahoma Civil Appeal Court upheld the driver's license of 22-year-old son Bryce Drummond, 22-year-old TV celebrity Ree Drummond.
Bryce Drummond, who played football for Oklahoma State University, has temporarily revoked his licence for Oklahoma service as Stillwater police arrested him in 2024 for suspected control of vehicle while drunk.
A Payne County judge dismissed the misdemeanor in April. However, the arrests sparked another civil lawsuit in Oklahoma that deprived him of his right to drive for 180 days freely.
He was allowed to continue driving his own vehicle using an interlock device that prevents the vehicle from running unless the driver provides a clean breathing sample. These terms also allow him to drive an employer's vehicle without equipment installed.
Drummond and his attorney Ky Corley appealed the driver's license revocation, asking the officer if he had the right to approach the vehicle without a warrant, whether he had reasonable doubts about Drummond, and whether there was evidence of actual personal control of Drummond on public roads, highways, streets, streets, streets, topples or any other public place.
During the appeal, Drummond was removed from office in Osage County and obtained a revoked driving ticket, but the district court dismissed the charges due to his pending appeal.
The Oklahoma Civil Appeal Court upheld his revocation, ruling that the district court made no mistakes. The ruling was made on August 1. Corley told Oklahoma that he plans to appeal to the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
Bryce Drummond plays football at OSU until 2024. He was listed as a graduation candidate in the spring of 2025.
His encounter with the police took place early in the morning on May 11, 2024. A Stillwater police officer was investigating the riots near Drummond's home when he saw the lights of the parked pickup truck turned on.
The officer approached the truck and found Drummond in the driver's seat. A live sobriety test revealed clues to the poisoning, the official wrote in the report.
Under the influence, Drummond was arrested for suspected actual physical control of the vehicle. Payne County Special District Judge Susan Worthington then dismissed the misdemeanor charge, ruling that the officer had no reason to be arrested. Although prosecutors said in court that they would appeal the ruling, they did not do so. The deadline for commencing the appeal process has passed.
