NWSL veteran Sophie Schmidt made his way to the late substitute after more than a month from the league game and snatched a point in the Bay FC in San Jose on Saturday night with a 2-2 draw with Houston.
Schmidt only played for her sixth NWSL appearance after the 82nd and six minutes of the season, with the 37-year-old kicking an unmarked header (3-8-3, 12 points) in the 88th minute corner.
Bay Football Club (4-6-4, 16 points) believed that they won in the 74th minute when rookie Taylor Huff scored her first professional goal. Alyssa Malonson received a pass from Penelope, stretching a cross from the left to the left (left), and Huff shot the ground from the ground, past goalkeeper Jane Campbell.
Her defender lost Van Zanten in the 18-yard box after two minutes of scoring at the far post office in Houston. It ended up holding a 56-minute lead at home.
In the 16th minute, when Racheal Kundananji used Houston's Allysha Chapman to slip away, Hocking scored his fifth goal in the last seven games and sent a cross to send Hawking at the pole from the shot. Assistance is one-third of Kundananji this season.
Chapman made up for a mistake in the second half shutdown, when the veteran made a diving slide in front of the goal to keep the draw intact.
