Astros signed the former Yankees rescuer in the possible Bronx chess sport that originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Houston Astros have signed right-handed Enyel de Los Santos to a Major League Baseball contract and have caught up in time for the series against the Yankees in the weekend in the Bronx.

It was a quick home for De Los Santos, who spent part of his last season with New York. The Yankees bought him from the San Diego Padres on the 2024 trade deadline, looking for depth to the bullpen. But his time at PinStripes was short and difficult. He allowed 10 runs to get a run in 6 1/3 innings – 14.21 ERA – with 5 strikeouts before being assigned as a mission.
After leaving the Yankees, De Los Santos signed with the Atlanta Braves in the winter. He carved out the middle character and hit 4.53 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 43 2/3. When the Braves acquired right-handed Tyler Kinley from Colorado, his term with Atlanta ended, forcing them to clear the roster.
The astronaut wasted very little time scalping him. Houston has been battling the damage and inconsistency of the bullpen, and adding an experienced arm is a priority as the team tries to stay heavy in the ALS playoffs.

For De Los Santos, the move offers an opportunity to face his former club immediately. Houston opened three games in New York on Friday, a playoff showdown against the two teams.
The 28-year-old also pitched for Phillies, Guardians and Padres throughout his career, bringing veterans to Houston Relief Corps. He has nothing to do with Dominican right-hander Yerry de Los Santos, who made his debut with the Pirates in 2022. While his Yankee tenure is forgettable, the Astronauts bet that he can offer valuable situations, and perhaps some extra motivation – perhaps in the return to Yankee Stadium.
