Kelsey Berreth is a doting mother whose life is cruelly taken away from her.
Berreth was last shopping at a grocery store in Woodland Park, Colorado, with her young daughter on Thanksgiving morning in 2018. A week later, Berreth's mom Cheryl Berreth reported that she was missing when she couldn't contact her.
Police began investigating her disappearance, initially thinking she had left town between text messages between her and her fiancé, Patrick Frazee. Fraser also claimed that he had been in communication with Beres for several days.
But when authorities discovered Frazee had a mistress named Krystal Jean Lee Kenney, the investigation took a dark turn, who imitated Berreth on his phone. Kenny eventually opened Frazee and claimed Frazee asked her to kill Berreth for him three times.
After Kenny refused to do so three times, Frazee personally murdered his fiancé and then invited Kenney's help to clear the crime scene. Kenny later brought the detective to the crime scene and told them about the creepy details of the appearance she arrived.
Frazee was arrested in December 2018 and charged with first-degree murder. After the trial the following year, Frazee was convicted of Berreth's murder and sentenced to life imprisonment and 156 years in prison. Meanwhile, Kenny agreed to plead guilty to tamper with evidence in exchange for her testimony against her ex.

Kelsey Berreth is a mother and a flight instructor who was 29 years old after his death. Berreth grew up on a family farm in Moses Lake, Washington.
Her long-time friend Nicole Haywood told him: “Obviously, she's pretty and very integrated, so you might think she's this prissy girl, but she's not. 48 hours In 2020. “She went out with their driving tractor and the fool.”
After graduating from high school, Berreth participated in a flight coaching program at a local community college.

In 2015, Berreth met Patrick Frazee, a cowboy and rancher who lived 1,000 miles away in Florissant, Colorado.
Two years after they started dating, Berreth was pregnant with his first child and welcomed his daughter Kaylee in October 2017. They were engaged but didn’t make a wedding plan right away. Although they raised Kaylee together, Berreth lived in his apartment while Frazee still lived on the ranch.

Earlier that day, Bereth also talked to her mother about Thanksgiving, and later texted Frazee: “I bought some sweet potatoes in case you want a sweet potato casserole.” After Bereth disappeared, Frazee initially claimed that Berreth broke up with him the day before Thanksgiving.
Telephone, text messages and grocery runs became the heart of the case, as investigators determined that if Beres was preparing for a Thanksgiving dinner, she wouldn't run away.
They also figured out that if she broke up with Frazee, she wouldn't be in touch with him about her Thanksgiving plan if she broke up with Frazee as he suggested. Her mom Cheryl Berreth told 48 hours Her daughter “sounded happy” on the last call and never mentioned breaking up with Frazee.
When Beres returned to the apartment, his neighbor's security camera caught Bereth and Frazee and stood at her front door with a baby carrier. Later that day, Frazee was seen alone on the camera, but investigators were not sure whether he was leaving or entering a different place.
Frazee told authorities that he picked up their daughter and took her to his ranch without Berreth. He then claimed that he had been communicating with Beres via text and called a few days later. However, authorities later discovered that Frazee took Berreth's phone on the day of Thanksgiving.
How did Kelsey Berreth die?
Berreth's mother was unable to contact her for 10 days, and she reported her disappearance to the police. Investigators spoke to Frazee, who claimed they had been talking about their breakup on their phones for days after Thanksgiving.
However, investigators then sent Bereth's phone call (continue to text Frazee and her employer) over 800 miles in Idaho. Police believe Beres ran away, but her mom insisted it was different from her daughter, and they also found blood smeared in Beres' apartment.
Meanwhile, police found Frazee was in touch with another person who happened to be in contact from the place where Berreth's phone was tracked. Authorities soon discovered that Frazee had a mistress named Krystal Jean Lee Kenney who had been in touch with Frazee.
Kenny eventually opened Frazee and claimed to authorities that Frazee visited Berreth on Thanksgiving day and blindfolded her character to play a game where she would try to guess the smell of a different candle. Frazee allegedly took the bat and defeated Berreth while his daughter was in another room in the house. After committing the murder, Frasey allegedly placed Beres' body in a black handbag. Frasey denied killing his fiancé.

Krystal Lee Kenney played a major role in deciding Frazee's murder. After authorities contacted her to communicate with Frazee during the crime, she revealed that they have been in an increasing number of diseases since 2006.
By 2018, the couple had been reconnecting, with Kenny claiming she didn't know she had a child and was engaged to another woman. After discovering the truth, Frasey allegedly told her that Beres was an abuser and began trying to convince Kenny to kill Beres.
“He started telling Kristal that Kelsey was an abusive mom and he had people looking at Kelsey and he was worried that Kelsey would hurt the baby, if not worse,” he said. Data cable: Discover secrets. “She fell in love with Patrick in a crazy way, which covered all her common sense and judgment.”
Kenny claimed Frazee tried to get her to kill Berreth once, not twice, but three times. Kenny's best friend Michelle Stein told 48 hours Frazee “will play with her a lot of people” and “just a way to manipulate her to do things”.
Kenney claims the first plan is for Kenney to bring Berreth Coffee with deadly drugs. But when she approached Bereth's door in September 2018, Kenny gave her coffee but couldn't put the drugs in it.
The second time Frazee gave Kenney a metal pipe so Kenney could hit Berreth in his home. Kenny drove to Bereth's house for the second time with the intention of killing her, but quit.
In the third and final attempt, Frazee told Kenney to carry an aluminum baseball bat and kill her, but she was allegedly frightened when she saw the police car driving by. Kenny claimed that it was when Frazee was frustrated and took things into his own hands.
On Thanksgiving Day 2018, Frazee called Kenney and directed her to drive from Idaho to her apartment in Bereth to clear the murder. Two days later, Kenny drove to Bereth's home and cleaned the crime scene with bleach and other chemical solutions. After cleaning up most of the scenes, she claimed she and Frazee kept all the evidence in a bag, burning them on Frazee's ranch in addition to Berreth's body. Kenny then returned to his home in Idaho with Bereth's phone and texted Frazee and Berreth's employers, making her look alive.
Weeks after Beres' murder, Kenny admitted to being in the cleanup work and murdered the murder and agreed to testify against Frez in exchange for a plea of guilty only to tamper with evidence.
Kenny then took investigators to Bereth's apartment and browsed them through the “terrifying” sight she saw while cleaning the room. Kenny claimed she deliberately left some blood for authorities to find out as evidence.

More than a month after Bereth's murder, Frazee was arrested on his ranch and was charged on December 21, 2018 with the murder of Berreth. His trial began in October 2019, with Kenney serving as the principal witness to the prosecutor.
Frazee's trial took place 10 days and after three hours of deliberation, the jury found him guilty of first-degree murder. A judge sentenced Frazee to life imprisonment, plus 156 years.
According to the Colorado Department of Corrections, Frazee sentenced him to his sentence at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Institute in Crowley County, Colorado.
Frazee and Berreth's daughter Kaylee was raised by Berreth's parents.

Kenny was sentenced to three years in prison for tampering with evidence after agreeing to a plea agreement to testify against Frazee. She began her sentence on January 28, 2020 at the Denver Women’s Correctional Institute.
However, in February 2021, the Court of Appeal ruled that her three-year sentence was unconstitutional because the judge exceeded the maximum sentencing guidelines for her specific charges. Kenney suffered 18 months of indignation and was released from prison on March 23, 2021.

Before Kenny was released from prison, she apologized to Bereth's family during a January 2020 sentencing.
She said: “I know I’m sorry that it’s not good enough. Colorado Sun. “Sorry, Kaylee won't have her biological mother…I'm sorry for everyone affected by this terrible tragedy. I'm sorry, I can't save Kelsey.”
But the judge in the judgment of the Fourth District Court of Justice Scott, said her behavior was “cold, calculated and cruel.” He added: “I’m sorry simply isn’t enough.
