The long-time judge smashed his “X” buzzer in one of the dance numbers in a song by Sandoval and seemed uninterested in the room to watch the rest of the show.

When the dust settles, the audience applauds Tom Sandoval and the most extra line, but the staff of host Terry can tell Cowell that something is in his mind.

“Simon, you don't feel this,” said immediately after the performance.

“Well, I like Tom, but I like the band, but, you're judging this kind of performance – it doesn't sound so good. It's not.” Cowell said, the audience spreading Boos. “Look, I'm afraid this might just be where I sit, but that doesn't sound good. That's not the case.”

Cowell is not the only judge who feels this way.

“I feel good, [but] Just before I continued, my inner ear dance kind of went out, so I kind of flew in the dark-”

“Don't make excuses!” Mel B can be heard from the judge's desk even if her microphone goes out.

“I'm not, I'm not!” Sandoval said before he recovered from calmness. “But I exploded, I exploded here.”

Ultimately, it was a performance up and down, and the next night, the U.S. vote revealed the fate of the band: they were one of seven actions eliminated from the competition.

So while Sandoval’s Road to Redemption ends at the end of the first round of the quarterfinals, the live performance will continue and another new two-hour episode is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26 – Agt Fans don't want to miss a second of action.
