  • by admin

There should be plenty of entertaining tennis on the first day at the US Open and, as ever, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for all 20 matches on the slate, including Aryna Sabalenka vs Rebeka Masarova, Emma Raducanu vs Ena Shibahara, Jasmine Paolini vs Destanee Aiava, and Victoria Azarenka vs Hina Inoue.

The first day of the United States open

Jessica Pegula vs Mayar Sherif

Ilemona: Jessica Pegula with a solid hardcore Résumé, built on her consistency and clean baseline pattern. Maya Sherif has achieved some good results on clay, but it doesn't move to faster surfaces like it is faster. Unless she finds a way to destroy the rhythm, the showdown will tilt in a way.

Forecast: 2

Zain: Defending finalist Jessica Pegula maintains a clear edge here, and her counter-attack style is perfect for New York courts. Mayar Sherif is expected to win directly, and Mayar Sherif lacks weapons to haunt the puppets.

Forecast: 2

Jordan: This is the ideal opening ceremony competition for the runner-up last year. Sherif is a clay player who usually struggles outside the dirt. Americans should win comfortably.

Belinda Bencic vs Zhang Shuai

Ilemona: Belinda Bencic has been working hard to restore form after the summer is up and down, but her history on tough courts is still strong. Zhang Shuai has almost no victory this year and has worked hard for confidence in most games. It's hard to see her turn around this trend here.

Prediction: Bencic 2

Zain: Belinda Bencic thrives on tough American courts with her flat, precise hits, which should be too much for Zhang Shangyi. Zhang will compete well, but Bencic's ability to redirect should get her through it.

Prediction: Bencic 2

Jordan: Zhang still has the ability to occasionally show glory in singles court. But these moments were too brief to support her against the Olympic gold medalist, and they have been impressed since returning from the maternity a year ago.

Prediction: Bencic 2

Camila Osorio vs Lulu Sun

Ilemona: Camila Osorio's game flourishes in creativity and courage, although she has been inconsistent on the hard court. The Suns show she can hit her opponents when she performs well earlier this season. If two players settle soon, this could be one of the more open fights this round.

Prediction: The Sun in 2

Zain: Camila Osorio's grit and counterattack give her an edge over experienced YI fans Suns. If the Sun continues to serve, she can stretch the game, but Osorio's battle should prevail.

Prediction: Osorio 3

Jordan: Although Osorio prefers to compete on clay, she always plays every game with a tenacious attitude and consistently surpasses her weight. The Suns' left forehand enters the Colombian's backhand weak, giving her an advantage in the showdown, but don't be surprised if Osorio brings it close or even wins.

Jelena Ostapenko vs Wang Xiyu

Ilemona: Jelena Ostapenko has a firepower that can blow match, although her performance also leads to a sudden exit from the past. Wang's Lefty Game and recent tables make her a tricky opponent and can make mistakes if she expands the rally. It's a game feeling, you can make a sharp turn in either direction.

Prediction: ostapenko 3

Zain: Jelena Ostapenko's explosive shots make her a favorite, although her unpredictability always leaves room for drama. If she controls her mistakes, Xinyu Wang will have difficulty keeping her distance.

Prediction: ostapenko 3

Jordan: Ostapenko has been struggling for form since the end of the Clay season. Her peak level is much better than the King's level, but the best chance for Chinese players to win is on the hard court. Still, if Ostapenko produces anything near the best, she will win.

Prediction: ostapenko 2
