Nashville – How does Vikings quarterback Max Brosmer plan to distract himself until the layoffs are completed on Tuesday?
“The best one [fair] In the country, former Gophers QB in Georgia said Friday night. “I'm going to bring some guys who have never been to the Minnesota Expo. It's a good thing for us. The rest is no longer in our hands.”
For Brosmer and his teammates, especially those young and unsigned like himself, distraction is what they can do in four days of their preseason finale loss to the Titans and Tuesday’s 3pm cutoff deadline.
For Vikings’ coach Kevin O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, there is no time for fried food and carnival.
Cutting the 91-man roster to 53 is not a very simple task, and for many talented players, O'Connell himself is very familiar with his own game days. He thinks these conversations are his job and are as difficult as possible.
“My duty is to make sure that not only do they get well deserved time from hearing my letters and how much I appreciate them, but some of the best conversations I have had on the football journey were also during some tough times, and the coach took some time to tell me how I could improve me, I needed to do a good job, I needed to really work hard and focus on my efforts,” O'Conconnell said.
Brosmer is one of several players the Vikings should consider in their decision making.
