Seven busts, including All-Stars, since the MLB trade deadline

  • by admin

We've been out of the Major League Baseball (MLB) trade deadline for three weeks, and players like Jhoan Duran (Philadelphia Phillies) and Mason Miller (San Diego Padres) have changed the dynamics of the team, but other deals have not yet been implemented. These are seven struggling players since the trade to the new club.

The New York Mets think they found the perfect setup in two-time All-Star Ryan Helsley to strengthen the bullpen. On the contrary, the opposite is true.

In eight appearances since St. Louis arrived, Hullsley scored 7-3 to 7.11 ERA and exploded three games in a row. Because the Cardinal gave him to Queens, he did more harm than good.

Cedric Mullins

Another new metro that hasn't provided spark yet is center fielder Cedric Mullins. New York hopes that the 2021 All-Stars will be able to fix offensive gaps in midfield, but nothing happened.

In 16 games since the trade, Mullins hit .196 with .573 OPS, 65 OPS+ and a home run. Compared to his 91 games against Baltimore by the deadline: 15 home runs, .738 OPS and 105 OPS+.

The New York Yankees believe they are getting a capable right-handed reliefist from Jake Bird's Colorado state, who made 45 appearances in the Rockies.

However, after Bird surrendered six innings in just two innings, the Yankees were enough. After he graduated, on August 4, the three-wheeler was allowed to Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung, who was relegated to Triple-A.

Eugenio Suarez

The Mariners switched the largest bat on the deadline, which gave All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suarez's second position in Seattle.

However, Suarez seems to have left his strength in Arizona. He has only three home runs in 19 games since the Arrival of the Diamondbacks, with .582 operations and 65 OPS+. Seattle will take more time to enter October.

Michael Soroka

The Chicago Cubs failed to win the top starting pitcher in the playoffs, but instead earned the stolen Michael Soroka and his 4.87 ERA from the Washington Nationals.

Foreseeable, Soroka was injured in Chicago's first start, lasting only two innings before hitting the injured roster with shoulder discomfort. It is not clear whether he will be back this season.

Jesus Sanchez

Houston Astros acquires outfielder Jesus Sanchez, who specializes in smashing right-hand pitches. He traded with the right with 9 of 0.754 OPS and 10 home runs.

But since leaving Miami, Sanchez has been terrible, hitting .150 with only .436 OPS and Putrid 21 OPS+. Currently, he is in a 27-0 downturn, and also plays a suspicious defense.

Harrison Bud

The Phillies desperately need a right-handed outfield bat and settled on Harrison Bader, one of his best offensive seasons. In Minnesota, Bader posted 12 home runs, .778 OPS and 112 OPS+ in 96 games.

Since arriving in Philadelphia, Bader has been relegated to a platoon character, with his groove not found. In his 15 games against the Phillies, he had a home run with an average of .200, .591 OPS and 63 OPS+.
