Safety CJ Gardner-Johnson's first training camp with the Texans took a negative turn on Thursday.
Gardner-Johnson defended wide range of receiver John Metchie’s game in practice, said reporters at the team’s practice in Greenbrier, West Virginia. Gardner-Johnson stayed up while checking for a noticeable leg injury.
Teammates circled around Gardner-Johnson and knelt down, a cart was taken to the field to bring him in. In the practice, Gardner-Johnson seems unable to put weight on the injured leg.
Gardner-Johnson was acquired from the Eagles during the offseason and his starting job at Houston Secondary was voted, so there will be a lot of people around the team hoping the news of the injury is not as bad as it looks on the court.
