Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reported that Ohtani was listed as the starting pitcher for the Dodgers’ game against the Los Angeles Cardinal on Wednesday.
On the pitcher in Cincinnati last Wednesday, Ohtani was expected to cover four innings, but due to lower spasms, Ohtani was covered four innings at the start of the season. Ohtani was able to continue the game as a Dodgers designated hitter, and he continued to serve as DH in the team's subsequent three games. The cramping problem obviously won't affect Ohtani's starting throwing plan, so he is ready to return to the mound as planned during the six-day break. The Dodgers are not expected to use designated bulk reliefers behind Ohtani, although the right-hander may be topped off in four innings as the team continues to slowly withdraw from his second career with his second career Tommy John John surgery.
