Rain can cause flooding, other damage to Carolina

Charlotte, North Carolina (WBTV) – Photos submitted to WBTV from the Charlotte area show other damage caused by flooding and rainy weather on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday afternoon, August 5, there was some rainfall in the rainfall throughout central North Carolina and northern South Carolina. Some areas, such as Rock Hill and Mecklenburg County, have more rainfall than others.

Floods in Rock Mountain

In Rock Hill, nearly five inches of rain fell in 24 hours as of about 3 p.m. Tuesday. More rainfall is expected, although showers may become increasingly dispersed on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Cars flooded in Pineville

In Pineville, floods on Town Center Boulevard captured at least one car underwater (see in the photo below). Officials said that by about 3 p.m. Tuesday, floods there began to retreat and the driver was safe.

Trees fall in Waxhaw's home

According to photos submitted by WBTV viewers, in Waxhaw, a tree fell into the home. Check these photos below.

Greenway flooded south of Charlotte

According to viewers, the flood also took over the greenway in the Selwynn village area of Charlotte. Photos submitted to WBTV show flooding on Wakefield Avenue near Little Sugar Creek Greenway. You can see the flood below.
