Washington Mystics are trading Brittney Sykes as a storm, which handed Alysha Clark and Seattle's 2026 first-round draft picks to DC

Zia Cooke moved from storm to mystic in the deal, but was abandoned since then. Washington's Sika Kone was also abandoned to close the deal.

Seattle still owns two first leg of 2026 after acquiring Los Angeles and Las Vegas in previous deals.

Sykes is one of the best seasons of her nine-year WNBA career, averaging 15.4 points, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The 2025 All-Stars are expected to bring scores to a Storm team that ranks 9th in offensive ratings.

Clark spent less money signing with the free agent storm, winning championships in 2018 and 2020, but sources say her role is not out of the way she has the side as expected of the team’s performance. Clark averaged 18.0 minutes per game and recorded her first DNP on Friday since 2012.

Washington, who has lost five of his last seven games, can now have three first-round picks in 2026 and will end with a 13-15 record in the lottery if the season ends.

Seattle ranked sixth in the 16-13 rankings.

The league's trading deadline is Thursday.
