Sentnor, a Utah Royals forward, joins the Utah Royals' NWSL-leading Kansas City trend.

In return, Utah received $600,000 in guaranteed in-league transfer funds, setting a new league record for NWSL transfers.

The team also confirmed there were future sell terms, with one source with the deal confirming twenty percent of ESPN, accounting for 20 percent of future transfers.

According to multiple sources, royals will not receive any reward for the players.

ESPN confirmed that Kansas City may increase Utah’s conditional performance surcharge to $100,000 in the future.

Kansas City will pay Utah over the years to spread out each team’s hit on the NWSL’s net transfer threshold. Utah will receive $300,000 immediately, another $200,000 next year and $100,000 in 2027.

Utah has had a trade conversation with several NWSL teams this summer, according to multiple sources.

“Thanks to the royals for drafting this small town girl and giving me the opportunity to start my lifelong dream of playing football,” Sentnor said in a statement. “Thanks for your opportunities and experience on and off the court.”

Sentnor scored four goals in 12 USWNT appearances. She was named the 2024 US Women's Player of the Year.

The Utah Royals chose Sentnor to be ranked No. 1 in the 2024 NWSL draft, ultimately the final draft ahead of the league's new collective bargaining agreement.

Sentnor had a goal and an assist in the last Royals of the season. She has started all 13 games for Utah, with only one win.

Kansas City is already full of offensive talent, ranking first in the NWSL No. 1, away from second-place Orlando Pride.

“The Allies are a dynamic player who is tenacious on both sides of the ball and will be another threat to our roster,” Kansas City head coach Vlatko Andonovski said in a statement. “She is a fun and exciting player. Ally upgrades her game year after year and we are eager to make her mark in Kansas City. She demonstrates the mentality we are working on and will be a great culture.”

Kansas City will play in Utah on August 8.
