Minneapolis – Red Sox manager Alex Cora said on Sunday he wanted to see how Roman Anthony's new look lineup was, while Jarren Duran was third in the game. The reward was enough to get him to repeat the same order on Monday.

Anthony once again led the Red Sox in Monday's series opener at Minnesota after tripling his victory over the Dodgers on Sunday. In fact, Boston is sending a roster with Los Angeles to beat Los Angeles, Ceddanne Rafaela is again at second base, Abraham Toro is captured at first base and Carlos Narváez.

Anthony hitting first wasn't a temporary solution for Boston. Kora said on Monday that this is something the club plans to stick to.

“Probably (with that” moving forward,” Cora said. “He did it all his life. I feel like now we are a team and Jaren (Duran) is also doing things on the offense, we can hit more creatively.

“It gives JD (Duran) more aggressive freedom.”

The Red Sox made a quick, three-way road trip at Target Field ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. The twins began selling right-handed Chris Paddack (who planned to be the starter on Tuesday) to rival Tigers on Monday afternoon. In the opener, Minnesota will send 24-year-old Righty Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound. He is the owner of the 2.14 ERA on the last seven outings on June 15.

Boston will start rookie Richard Fitts, who was hit hard in Philadelphia Tuesday night (four runs, six hits in 3 innings) and has a 4.86 ERA in 37 major league innings this season. The Red Sox is 4-5 because of the All-Star game, but the Twins (.500 below) will be easier, and then encounter scary Astros and Royals on the case file.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:40 pm ET (local 6:40).
