“Locking his A-Because He Needs Under Prison” – Victor Wembanyama reposted the video criticizing Karl Malone's 62nd birthday, initially appearing on the basketball network.
Hall of Fame member Karl Malone turned 62 on July 24, and the league's “NBA History” X account greeted the “Postman” on his birthday. The post has attracted more than 2,000 comments, most of whom criticized his personal life.

San Antonio Spurs Act Victor Wembanyama did not comment on the post. However, he reposted a tweet from a “X” user called “J.Strand” with a video from content creator Lil Rodney Son, who summoned Malone’s past.
Malone's controversial past
As detailed in the Birthday Mail, Malone is a member of the NBA All-Star in the 14th NBA All-Star, two MVPs, 11th NBA first-team selection, three-time all-Defensive first-team, and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Commemorative Team.

But despite being one of the most accomplished players in league history, Carl also has a controversial private life.
When Malone was 20, he was impregnated with a 13-year-old neighbor, Gloria Bell. Since Louisiana agreed to be 17 years old, what Carl did would be considered statutory rape, which should put him in prison for 10 years. However, Bell's family chose not to file criminal charges and chose a parent-child lawsuit.
But Malone refused to respond to the 1985 lawsuit, with Bell's parents asking for a $200 per week stipend to assist her daughter in raising Malone's son. The court ordered the Utah jazz star to pay $125 a week in child support, but he appealed that the parties eventually reached an outdoor settlement where Malone did not have to admit that the boy was his child.

Carl never admitted anything wrong
Although public criticism of Malone has been decades, NBA and Malone’s peers have been very cautious when discussing or commenting on the issue. Meanwhile, the jazz legend never acknowledged any misconduct, but chose to stay away from the focus of the crowd.

In Utah during the 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend, the league invited Malone to judge the dunk contest, which rekindled the public's anger at the “Postman”. But when asked about this question, Malone was as indifferent as usual.
“I didn't discuss any rebound. I don't care.” He said. “That's my life, that's my personal life, I'm going to handle everything like I have to deal with it. So, anyway… I'm human.”
Although there are no public figures without flaws, history shows that fans and media are often willing to move forward from controversial chapters, especially as time passes and accountability has been addressed.

However, in Malone's case, the criticism remains, mainly because he never publicly acknowledged any misconduct. Some people think Wembanyama should avoid commenting on events that happened before his time. Still, his post responds to a wider conversation, continuing to revolve around Malone’s legacy.
