According to Hypefresh, rising hip-hop artist Nino Pay was arrested in Maryland on July 24, 2025. The 23-year-old rapper's real name is Jacquan Andrews, who was detained in his hometown, although no exact charges have been revealed. As of July 25, law enforcement has not issued an official statement to get fans and the music industry to seek answers.

Nino, of Maryland, came out of Landover and gained recognition for his original lyrics and real-life storytelling. His 2023 breakthrough single Pain and possibilityleading to a record deal with Signal Records, a partner of Columbia Records and Sony Music. He followed up with two albums –Can't go to BACC In 2024 and When I love me, I am In 2025 – Praise in his unfiltered personal struggle. He was also appointed to the 2025 XXL freshman class.

Nino has previously spoken about his troubled upbringing and spent 18 months in juvenile detention in robbery and automatic theft. Although these experiences have affected his music, it is unclear whether his latest arrest is related to past events or involves new charges.
