The winning actor Micheal Ward, known in films and movies including Top Boys, Little Axe and Blue Stories, was charged with rape.

Metropolitan police say Mr Ward, 27, is a Hertfordshire Chinkai, charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.

The troops said the alleged crime was related to a woman and was reportedly in January 2023.

The actor is named one of the stars of the 2019 “The Cult Popular Blue Story” and won the Rising Star Award at the BAFTA Film Awards the following year.

He played Jamie, the Netflix hot boy, in 2019-22 and was nominated for Best Actor in the BAFTA TV Awards in 2021.

He also starred in the 2022 famous Empire of Light and will be in the upcoming American pandemic-era Western film Eddington, which will be released in the UK on August 22.

Mr. Ward will appear in the Thames County Court in London on August 28.

“Our professional officials continue to support women who stand up – we know that investigations of this nature can have a significant impact on those reporting,” said Det Supt Scott Ware of Metropolis.

Catherine Baccas, deputy chief prosecutor of South London, CPS, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service carefully reviewed a piece of evidence that has authorized Metropolitan police to charge Micheal Ward, 27, two counts of rape, two counts of two counts of assault on suspicion of assault, and sexual assault on a woman in January 2023.”

She added: “We remind everyone that the lawsuit against the suspect is active and he has the right to conduct a fair trial.

“It is crucial that reports, comments or sharing should not be conducted online, which may bias these programs anyway.”
