“The player asked the Guardian's most roster to be Steven Kwan, but given his 2 1/2 years away from free agency, he's unlikely to trade him,” Olney wrote in a Twitter/x post on Tuesday. “He has 11 stolen bases this year.”
Trade Kwan never seems to make any sense to Cleveland. The team made the playoffs last year and lost to the ultimate American League champion New York Yankees. This is not to say that the guardians need to blow up their roster.
If Kwan signs a valid contract, then the idea will make sense, but he is not. His agreement also has another two years of arbitration for the guardian to exploit.
