An overview of an agreement is a proposed transfer between Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt.
It still takes work to formally complete the deal, which is expected around the next day.
If all the add-ons in the upcoming move are implemented, Frankfurt will be optimistic, which will represent club record sales – surpassing Randal Kolo Muani's 95 million euros (£82.3 million, $110.5 million) to switch to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.
sports Liverpool is negotiating for Ekitike and personal terms are not expected to be a problem, it reported on Thursday.
Newcastle United had previously rejected Ekitike's €75 million offer and began to view Brentford's Yoane Wissa as an alternative target after cooling down interest in the 23-year-old.
Liverpool also contacted Newcastle through a potential signing of Alexander Isak, showing their willingness to reach a deal in the £120 million region.
Anfield Club has been prioritizing a striker this summer, and although sensitivity remains high after Diogo Jota's tragic death earlier this month, they need to raise awareness to add further supplements after bringing in Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
Liverpool's frontline may also set out, with the club open to offer quotes to Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, who informed them that he was eager to leave his interest in Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Ekitike originally joined Eintracht from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2024, and then signed permanently in the summer for €17.5 million. In his half-season loan in Germany, he scored four goals and two assists in 14 games before being named 22 goals and 12 assists in the Bundesliga team this season.
The forward has been covered five times in France under 21, but has not played for senior teams yet. Ekitike came to the academy before joining PSG in 2022 through Reims’ academy. He joined Newcastle in January 2022 and then signed PSG that summer before closing down on the deadline.

“A player becomes a complete striker”
Analysis of German football writer Sebastian Stafford-Bloor
Ekitike is quickly becoming a great player. The first few months of the 2024-25 season were characterized by his combination and understanding with Omar Marmoush, who became one of the most dangerous pairings in the Bundesliga before the Egyptians left the city.
It is in this partnership that Ekitike shows diversity in his game. Yes, yes, but also a devastating counterattacker – Tottenham Hotspur found in the Europa League, he scored well in the first leg of the quarterfinals and had the ability to create opportunities, have skill or stable passes. On the left side of the attack or along the left side of the attack, he is a threat.
He seems to have fallen into the gap left by Marmoush, the heart of Frankfurt's attack in the New Year. Additionally, while the most obvious one is the skilled player, he may also be a powerful free throw box target and shows presence in the air that may surprise defenders. Combining it with his ability to beat the defender one-on-one through speed or skill, you turn a player’s portrait into a complete striker.
There is no doubt that he is still developing. He has to become more efficient and occasionally snatch opportunities, but his talent is as talented as German football and the interest in Premier League this summer.
