Jacob Misourowski
Jacob Misiorowski suddenly entered the MLB scene so much that he was appointed as the All Start with just five starts.
The clock ticked and the MLB team had a full day of trading before the transaction deadline arrived.
Whether it's the big bat or bullpen arms, this year's playoff hopes are looking to find missing pieces that may put them on top in the playoffs. There are still several different makers in the market, so as the deadline (6pm ET Thursday) approaches, baseball fans can expect a range of events.
Maybe today is the day we see starting pitchers Sandy Alcantara, Edward Cabrera, Merrill Kelly or Zac Gallen.
Here are all news and updates for Wednesday, July 30:
Here are some of the top players who might move forward by Thursday's deadline
- Starting pitcher: Sandy Alcantara (Marlins), Charlie Morton (Orioles), Edward Cabrera (Marlins, Merrill Kelly (D'Backs), Zac Gallen (D'Backs) (D'Backs), Mitch Keller (Pirates), Shane Bieber (Shane Bieber (Guardians), Joe Ryan (Twins), Dylan (Twins), Dylan Cease (Padres) (Padres) (Padres)
- Relief Pitcher: Ryan Helsley (Cardinal), Jhoan Duran (Twins), Griffin Jax (Twins), Raisel Iglesias (Braves), David Bednar (Pirates)
- Batsman: 3B EUGENIO SUAREZ (D'Backs), Luis Robert (White Sox) from Luis Robert (White Sox), 3B Nolan Arenado (Cardinals) from Ramon Laureano, Steven Kwan (Guards), DH Marcell Ozuna (Braves).
According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, Washington Nationals traded Luis Garcia (relief pitcher, not second baseman) and Andrew Chafin to the Los Angeles Angels. Ken Rosenthal of track and field also quoted sources.
This deal won't move the playoff needle.
Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez was hit on the right-handed finger in the ninth inning on July 28, and he was hit on July 29 for the game on July 29, and he returned to the roster on July 30.
Lovalo said if the game was tense, Suarez could have been in trouble on July 29. Suárez didn't wear anything protective on his fingers or hands, swinging his swing with a bat and said he felt good enough.
Suarez's fingers were performed with three different bone scans, none of which exposed the fractured bone. Just like Merrill Kelly and Zac Gallen, his time as a Rattlesnake may be numbered, as Suarez is still talking about candidates to trade. – José M. Romero Arizona Republic
Major League Baseball's 2025 trade deadline is scheduled for Thursday, July 31 at 6 p.m.
A senior director told USA Today Sports that the Houston Astronauts are exploring the possibility of obtaining Minnesota twin shortstop Carlos Correa. Given that he is a local product, the possibility of potential returns for Correa is fascinating and led Astros to four division titles, three colored flags and World Series titles before leaving as a free agent after the 2021 season.
For the rest of the season, a third baseman with starter Isaac Paredes was also interested in Cardinal Nolan Arenado and Rattlers' Eugenio Suárez. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity as trade talks are ongoing.
Money may be a factor in their final decision. Suárez is in the final year of his seven-year, $66 million contract, while Correa and Arenado have a few years left in their current deal and put them above the luxury tax threshold.
Chicago White Sox Outfielder Austin Slater heads to the Bronx. According to Jack Curry of the Network, the Yankees switched Slater, 32, to the eve of the Major League Baseball trade deadline.
The Yankees will actively seek to add a starting pitcher and multiple relief players before the 6 p.m. deadline on Thursday. So far, the Yankees’ three trades have been all used for offensive players – third baseman Ryan McMahon, utility player Amed Rosario and now Slater.
Slater can be used in the left field row, with the switch hitting Jasson Dominguez, who struggled to hit the left-handed pitch. In this year's 77-dish appearance on left-handed pitches, Slater released a .859 OPS. All his home runs this season have been hit by a left-handed pitch. – Pete Caldera by Northjersey.com
Even after trading rescuers Seranthony Dominguez, Gergory Soto and Bryan Baker, the Baltimore Orioles may still have more deals.
Ken Rosenthal of the sport reported that Milwaukee brewers are interested in the .283/.374/.456 All-Star 1B/.456 of Ryan O'Hearn this season. They could use O'Hearn (mist the right-hand pitcher) as Andrew Vaughn's platoon partner, while regular first baseman Rhys Hoskins is on the injury list. O'Hearn is a free agent at the end of the 2025 season.
Additionally, the New York Mets may be interested in long-term Oriole Cedric Mullins to fill a hole in the midfield. ESPN's Jesse Rogers recently reported that the Mets are “focusing” on Chicago White Sox and Mullins' Luis Robert to make potential deals.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports has previously reported that the White Sox hopes to come from Mets third baseman Mark Vientos to any deal with Robert. The Orioles flush with position players may want to pitch in exchange for Mullins.
In the evening, Seranthony Dominguez stood in the same wet corridor he was strolling a few hours ago, when the rarest baseball weirdness (a deal completed by two teams between two duo players) transformed him from last Baltimore Oriole to a Frontunning Torontoning Toronto Blue Jay.
Dominguez endured one of the longest and weirdest days a player could have, but before the trade deadline, fate is far worse than jumping down four locations in the street and sleeping in your own bed the night you trade.
“It's crazy,” Dominguez said after his Toronto debut seventh inning. “I woke up today and played for the Orioles and after the first game, I sat there and hang out with the guys and they called me and told me, 'Hey, we've got you deal. Go to the next canoe.' – Gabe Lacques in the United States Today
Eugenio Suárez to tigers? Gleyber Torres welcomes deals
The Tiger is one of many teams interested in getting Eugenio Suárez from the Rattlesnake, which is scheduled to be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. Other teams on the other teams include the Cincinnati Reds, the Chicago Cubs, the Milwaukee Winemakers, Philadelphia Phyllis and Citel Phyllis and Citel Marines.
“If he came here at some point, it would be great,” said Torres, former teammate of Suarez and former teammate of Venezuela. “He treats people the right way. It's easy for him to talk to him. He always wants to help the players. It's a very, very good addition for us.”
“I think he's better than the players. I have a great relationship with him. He's a modest person, a great person. I've known him for many years. We have really had a good relationship.”
Suarez said he wanted to play for the Tigers. The Tigers signed Suarez from Venezuela for a prize of $10,000 during the 2008 international signing. He made his debut with the Tigers in 2014. After 85 games, the Tigers traded Suarez to the Reds. – Evan Petzold, Detroit Liberty
Brewers' Danny Jansen trade returns to catcher in Wisconsin
Not long ago, members of Wisconsin Timber Rattlesnake lived in the home shared by young Danny Jansen with his family, just one bike from the Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton. At the turn of fate, it was a Timber Rattlers player sent to another organization who brought Jensen back to Wisconsin.
Jansen, 30, joined the winemaker on July 29, a day after Milwaukee struck a deal with Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for A-level infielder Jadher Areinamo. Catcher Jansen, an alumnus of Appleton West and part of a former Rattlers host family, now found his fourth team in a year after the back-to-back trade deadline extended.
“It's certainly going to be surprised by the news,” said Jansen, who served as the Ray Lead Catcher in 2025. “It's exciting to hear that this is for the brewers. Obviously, the brewers have been playing great baseball all the time. My wife and I live at home, and the places I live with are exciting. I hear a great club. – JR Radcliffe, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
